Sleep

Last night for no apparent reason Leo switched his sleep pattern and for the better. Since birth he's been a Swiss watch. He needs to eat/drink every two and half hours day and night. Meaning, normally the night shift consists of a bottle at 23:00, 01:30, 04:00 and 06:30. Its manageable, each bottle is drunk at lighting pace and usually he's fast asleep as soon as he finishes the last sip, but not ideal. Last night after his slightly later than normal night he totally skipped the 1:30 bottle. Meaning I had a luxurious four and half hours of uninterrupted sleep. It felt great.

I guess it was only a blip, a rare fault in the Swiss time piece. We'll find out in the coming nights.

This morning we got up and out earlier than normal, I didn't want to make yesterdays mistake of just waiting home till he had a nap which never came. We just went out to the kitchen shop to by some supplies and I picked up a coffee. He fell asleep in the sling and I hoped I could make it upstairs and transfer him into bed still asleep to continue the nap. It sort of worked but the nap only lasted 10 minutes. Somehow that was enough and he woke up smiling and giggly. We hopped on FaceTime and had a catch up with Granny.

Leo has started to turn his nose up the simple Purees we've been making for his lunch. Todays Parsnip and Carrot was delicious but still wasn't doing it for him. So I mixed it up a bit, I was eating a fish finger sandwich so I gave him some small pieces of wholemeal bread smothered in the puree, as well as for the first time some steam broccoli. He seemed to be happy with lots of things to pick it. I'm not sure how much he actually eat. There seemed to be a lot spread all over the kitchen.

After lunch we went to Little Music Makers. After all my failed scheming and nap planning over the last few days, it was typical that he decided to fall into a really deep sleep on the way to class. I decided to wake him up rather than skip the class. I'm glad I did, he really loves it. We sang a few different numbers today but essentially much of the same. Its actually a real work out for me, lifting him up and down, crawling on the floor and dancing about.

No late night tonight. It was an extremely grumpy evening ritual and he fell asleep almost the minute I lay him into bed. That was 18:30. He woke again at 19:00 for a bottle and since then not a peep. He'll probably wake up at 23:00 for a feed... after that let's see.

6 months old!
