Hibination

Today was an extremely quiet day, Leo was exhausted by his exploits last night, so we just rested all morning.

Having spent the evening out with Flos drinking cocktails, a night of very little sleep was tough.

Leo appears to have his first cold, he was desperately trying to sleep but with a blocked nose he couldn't breath and use his treasured dummy. Nothing too dramatic, he just needed a lot of attention through the night.

All this meant we didn't leave the house in he mornIng. Leo napped a lot, I attempted to do the same, but to no avail. I instead used the time to get the apartment clean and tidy. One of friends told me that parental leave is made up of three core components. The happiness of the baby, your own happiness/sanity and the cleanliness of your apartment. One has to suffer for the other two to thrive. She was basically saying to me stop tiding up and sleep. Maybe I'm still in denial but I'm determined to keep the flat neat. Let's see how long that lasts!

We didn't venture outside until about 14:30. I grabbed a slice of pizza and we walked about until we met up with Flos and Dave at Das Spielzimmer Kinder Cafe. For the Londoners these cafes are a joy, they can't believe they don't exist back home. It takes them a little getting used to. "I know the idea is I sit here and enjoy a coffee while he plays quietly over there... but I can't help watching him in case he does something to someone else's child".

Wilf is a super little kid, extremely happy and sweet. He's very cute with Leo. Often giving him a little hug. But inevitably the freedom and excitement did get too much for him eventually, he decided he didn't to share something with another kid, they had a little argument and we decided it was time to leave.
