After the morning nap and porridge we headed out to do some errands. Most importantly a card for my brothers birthday.
We rushed in for a quick nappy change and then headed off to meet Leo's mum for lunch, a nice treat for both of us. Leo was as normal adorable and made friends with everyone in the office he could. We were a little distracted by apartment discussions, but he had a great time.
After lunch Leo and I headed to meet Austin. We planned to do a long walk which ended up at Austins daughters Kita in the district of Wedding. This was lovely and gave Austin and I loads of time to catch up on all sorts including work, sport, tax and obviously being a Dad.
We ended up walking back too and our meandering took us through a few really interesting places I'd like to go back and check out properly. We went past Pankstrasse U-Bahn station, which was a bunker intended to protect the people of West Berlin in case of a full-blown nuclear war and we passed the spectacular Wedding Amtsgericht - or district courthouse. A crazy neo gothic building emblazoned with all sorts of carvings including a national socialist eagle... swastika removed.
I've managed to get bathtimes back into the evening ritual. Leo happily splashing away and playing with the new piglet flannel. Another Julia Donaldson book and bed. Its been a full on but fun day.
