We met my friend and former colleague Emily for coffee this morning at Zeit Für Brot. Much to Emily's disappointment Leo slept the entire time. We talked a little about work and weather I'd rejoin the team when I came back from paternity leave. I probably will, but for now, it just reminded me to make the most of the time off I have.
Emily headed for work. Leo and I headed to the kindercafe. He really loves it here and every time I come here I think I should come more often. I was able to put him in the play area and leave him to it. There were a lot of other kids there today and he had a lot of interaction with them. One girl was treating him like a little brother, lots of grabbing toys off him, telling him off for chewing everything, hugging him, kissing him... nothing seemed to phase Leo. In fact he seemed to enjoy it.
After lunch I set Leo up to create some art. I google art with babies and found a good bubble wrap idea. Basically you just put some blobs of paint inside some sealed bubble wrap. The kid can then squish it about to create patterns and mix the colours. I think Leo is a little too young for it, he did play with it but he didn't really engage in it. He was bored after 5 minutes, but still we have his first art work!
