Much the same as yesterday (I might be writing that a lot). From next week onwards I hope to have a regular Thursday plan, a one hour German lesson with my teacher Karoline from SpeakEasy. She's happy to see me with Leo in tow. I guess we'll just wonder round or go for coffee and speak German. She's basically an expensive tandem partner. My German is still pretty embarrassingly poor despite having lived here for over 3 years now. Learning a language by osmosis is not possible, it's a lot of effort. Especially in a place where everybody wants to practice their English. One wrong Der, Die, Das and they've switched. I did however manage to speak to the lady from Ikea on the phone and book an engineer to visit next week and take a look at our dish washer. Or at least I think I did, let's see!
For lunch Leo at his first bit of something green. I made him a potato and broccoli purée. Eating doesn't appear to be a problem for him, he wolfed the entire bowl don't without blinking.
In the afternoon we went for a walk over to our closest park, Mauerpark. We went into the Jugendfarm Moritzhof, a sort of city farm. Once agin Leo slept and missed all the fun. I guess we'll back here often when he's older.
The hardest part of the day is between 17:00 and 20:00. The evening routine of food, bath and a book. It's actually quite nice when everything goes well, but often like tonight it drags. We're both tired and a little grumpy. I'm very pleased to hand over to his Mum when she gets back from work.
